MARVIN HENRY STRICKER, born November 15, 1935, passed away Sunday, July 26, 2015, in Walla Walla, Wash. He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Stricker, and his father, Henry Stricker. Marvin is survived by his wife, Betty Stricker; his sister Zanna Johnson (Gene); his sons Paul K. Stricker and Todd A. Stricker
(Julie); step-son Richard Woodward (Pat), step-daughters Kimberly Elmer (Shane), Kristie Clemons (Bill), and Tia Testerman (Shane); and his grandchildren Drew and Riley Stricker, Austin and Adam Stricker, and step-grandchildren Jordon, Mitch, and Kyle Clemons, Travis and Blake Elmer, and Josie Testerman.
Marvin’s employment career was in the men’s clothing industry, where he was employed by Aden & Josi in Portland, Ore., and later opened a store for the same company in Gresham, Ore. In 1976, Marvin and family moved to The Dalles, Ore., to begin a part ownership in Gordon’s For Men. He then moved to Astoria, Ore., to run Butch’s For Sir. He eventually moved to Walla Walla, Wash., to enjoy retirement.
The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions in Gretchen Stricker’s (the lovable family Dog) memory to the Oregon Humane Society, 1067 NE Columbia Blvd, Portland, OR, 97211; or to The Blue Mountain Humane Society, 7 George St, Walla Walla, WA, 99362.
