Rose Olson, 85, passed away at her Hood River, Ore., home with family by her side on June 30, 2011. She was born April 17, 1926.
Rose was born Martha Rose Young to Everitt "Doc" Young and Presta (Branson) Young in Jackson Township, Mo. On Nov. 3, 1945, Rose married Lyle "Bud" Olson in White Salmon, Wash., and they shared 56 years together. Bud passed away Dec. 13, 2001.
Rose worked many years at Diamond Fruit and was one of only a few women production supervisors. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Hood River.
Rose is survived and will be dearly missed by her daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Phil Mason, of Hood River; grandsons Eric (and Anne) Mason and Erin (and Tamme) Mason; great-grandchildren Ashley, Abby, Alia, Lilly and Sadee Rose; sisters-in-law Betty Smith, Marge Taylor, Liz Holderidge and Mary Jane Buckley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorials are encouraged to any of the following in memory of Rose: Providence Hospice of the Gorge, Hood River First Baptist Church or May Street Elementary Library Fund in care of Waucoma Bookstore.
