Margaret Tetlow

Margaret Tetlow passed away peacefully on Jan. 17, 2018, in Lafayette, Calif., at age 95 with her family by her side. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Robert “Bob” Tetlow, sister Elizabeth (Betty Stuart), brother John Dayton McLucas Jr., and son-in-law Mick Hanlon.

She was born and raised in Hood River, Ore., on Feb. 28, 1922, to parents John Dayton McLucas and Deforest (Gould). She often spoke of the influence the beautiful valley had on her life. When the 20th Annual Legion Climb up Mount Hood was held on July 20, 1940, Peg was one of five “princesses of the climb” who reached the summit, guided by the Crag Rats.
