Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Laura Kristeen Lee Canaday was born Feb. 5, 1951, in Hood River, Ore., to William and Evelyn Lee. Most of her life she resided in Oregon City, Ore. She passed away on Feb. 13, 2015.
Laura was beautiful, loving and outgoing to those she encountered, whether it be family, friends, co-workers or strangers. As a daughter, mother, sister and friend, she touched the lives of many.
Laura had a love of animals, especially horses, and enjoyed showing them professional for many years. While doing this, she also worked for Conway Transportation for 40-plus years, until retiring in 2010. She worked very hard throughout her life and passed away much too soon, at the age of 64.
Laura is survived by her daughter, Jessica; son-in-law, Jason; sisters, Roberta and Nancy; and brother, Bill.
There will be a graveside service at 1 p.m. April 18 at Pine Grove Cemetery.
