Larry Windom

Larry was born in Goldendale on Aug. 5, 1935, to Donald Sumner Windom and Agnes Marie Demaris. He left home at the age of 16 to enlist in the US Navy for four years and then continued his service to his country as a radioman in the US Coast Guard for 19 years.

After retirement, he owned several businesses. He came out of retirement in 1984 to work as a Communications Officer for the Central Intelligence Agency which included tours in Central America and locations around the world.

Larry’s selfless service throughout his career was directly responsible for saving many lives.

Larry will be especially remembered for his love of family and friends, his quick wit, and his exceptional generosity toward others.

He loved spending time fishing, golfing, playing cards, drinking whiskey and sharing his stories. He loved racing motorcycles and driving motorcycles. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of the Mt. Adams BPOE #1868 in White Salmon.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years, Bunny, his daughter Christina and sons Tyree, Flindt, Christopher, Jon, and Matthew and their families. He was a proud grandfather of twelve and great-grandfather of one. He will also be remembered by various nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and dear friends.

To honor Larry’s wishes, a Celebration of Life will take place in the Spring. All is family and friends can come together at that time in remembrance of his life and legacy of love.
