Kathryn "Katie" Deaville Guzman, 35, of Hood River, Ore., passed away Friday, July 3, 2015, at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center in Portland, Ore.
Katie was born June 11, 1980, to Teresa and Kenneth Deaville. Katie was born and raised in Hood River and attended Westside Elementary, Hood River Middle and Hood River Valley High schools.
Katie married Jose Guzman in July 1996. She and Jose have two boys together: Christopher and Aaron. Katie had several jobs throughout her whole life, but her passion and most rewarding were caring for others. Katie’s greatest achievement was raising and loving her two boys and the many children she took under her wing and mothered. She is best known and remembered for her enormous heart and compassion for others.
In addition to her husband, Jose, Katie is survived by sons Christopher and Aaron Guzman; parents Ken and Teresa Deaville; brother Ken Deaville Jr.; sister Nicole Deaville; the entire Guzman family; grandparents Jack and Caroline Nyseth; grandmother Virginia Honkola; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
