Karl Andrew Gutzler, 39, passed away Thursday, October 18, 2018 in Portland, Ore.
Karl was born on Nov. 18, 1978, in Portland, Ore. He grew up in Hood River, in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. He loved spending summers at Camp Sherman and was a talented baseball player. Karl graduated from Columbia Gorge Community College with an Associate’s Degree in 2002. After college, he moved back to Portland where he pursued a career in Heating and Air Conditioning, which he continued to do until his passing. He was a skilled handyman who could fix anything and truly enjoyed helping people. He had many friends and loved having people over to his house for barbecues and games. Karl was a huge Dallas Cowboys fan and loved cheering them on each season. His dog, Jada, was his best friend and the light of his life.
Karl is survived by his loving parents, Mark and Susan Gutzler; his sister, Kari Gutzler; his grandpa, Darrel Gutzler; and his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
His family is having a celebration of life on Saturday, Nov. 17 from 1-3 p.m. at Mary’s Woods, 17440 Holy Names Drive, Lake Oswego, Ore. The gathering will be on the second floor of the main building.
