JoAnn (Lee) Hilkey 70, died Friday, Jan. 16, 2015, in Las Vegas, Nev., with her husband and children by her side. JoAnn was born Aug. 30, 1944, in Yakama, Wash., to Herman and Leona Lee.
In 1962, JoAnn graduated from Wy’east High School in the Hood River Valley, Ore. She went on to college in Portland, Ore. Joann married the love of her life, Thomas Hilkey, on Oct. 4, 1963, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with family and friends in October 2013.
JoAnn loved sightseeing and traveling along with playing bingo. Her grandchildren were the apple of her eye and she so enjoyed talking about them.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Leona Lee, of Mount Hood; and her brothers William (and Betty) Lee, of Hood River, and James (and Evelyn) Lee, of Mount Hood.
A celebration of life will be held at Mountain Meadow Farm and Gardens in Mount Hood on June 7 at noon.
In lieu of flowers or cards, donations may be made to the Oregon Special Olympics.
