Janet “Jan” Rowena (Potts) Eldridge “got her wings” on Monday, Feb. 5, 2018, when she passed away at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, Ore. Janet was born on Sept. 3, 1953, and was 64 years of age at the time of her passing.
Janet was born in The Dalles, Ore., to Betty Joan Potts. They moved to Cape Cod, Mass. Her life was full of travels. She enjoyed her life, and being with family and friends. Adventures kept her wanting to see life’s beautiful places from Missouri to California.
The birth of her daughter, Lori, was the best part of her life. Becoming a mother and homemaker, she returned to Hood River.
While living in California, Jan’s health declined and her brother (Steve) brought her back to Hood River to be with family. She lived at the Hood River Care Center and most recently at Hawks Ridge Assisted Living. Jan enjoyed the friends she made at both and was a “go getter” and was always happy and creative. She was a beautiful soul to be around.
Jan is survived by her daughter, Lori Eldridge of Red Bluff, Calif.; siblings Kathy L. Potts of Arizona, Steven W. Potts (and wife, Jackie) of Lost Lake, David A. Woods of Mountain Home, Ark., and Tom Wells of California; grandchildren Michael, Robert and Alexis; great-grandson Johnathan; numerous nieces, nephews, distant family; and the many friends that she has collected over the years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Alice Potts and grandparents, Elmer and Birdie Potts.
A celebration of Jan’s life will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 15 at Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations), 1401 Belmont Ave., Hood River. Jan loved the color purple so her family would encourage you to wear purple at her service.
A special thank you to all who watched over and helped with Jan’s care in the last years.
