Janet “Jan” Darleen Mallery passed away on April 28, 2020 at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital in Hood River, Ore., after a long illness. Jan was born in Upshur County, Texas on March 2, 1940 to parents Roy and Fannie (Capps) Bishop. She was 80 years of age at the time of her passing.
Jan’s mother passed away when she was 12 years old. While her father worked, she helped raise her two sisters. The family moved all around Texas during her younger years. She moved to Hood River, Ore., in 1974 to be closer to her daughter and her family. Jan met Tom Mallery in 1976 in Hood River and the couple was married in 1979 in Las Vegas, Nev.
She loved painting, especially watercolors, calligraphy, hummingbirds and Jack Russell Terriers.
Jan was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Perry, Truman, Judy and Gayla; and her son Terry. Jan is survived by her husband of 42 years, Tom of Mosier, Ore.; daughter, Tina of San Antonio, Texas; sons, Matt of Phoenix, Ariz., Bob of San Antonio, Texas; five (5) grandchildren; and eight (8) great grandchildren.
Private committal services were held Tuesday, May 5th, 2020 at Idlewilde Cemetery of Hood River, Oregon.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations) 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031.
