Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
James W. Teel passed away on Sept. 12, 2018, in Yakima.
He was born and raised in White Salmon, graduating from Columbia High School in 1962.
He served three years in the U.S. Army.
He began his career in the Washington State Patrol in 1967. His first duty station was Yakima, where he met the love of his life, Rosella Boucher. They married on June 29, 1968, and spent 50 wonderful years together.
After being wounded on duty as a trooper, he retired from the WSP and began his 35 years of ministry, serving others as a director for underprivileged youth camps. Then he became executive director of Roseburg Rescue Mission and later Portland Rescue Mission.
His legacy of serving others has left a lasting impression of love, respect, and admiration for others that his four children, their spouses, eight grandchildren, and one great-grandchild will always remember.
As dad would always say, “it is well with my soul,” and now his is resting in peace with his heavenly Father Jesus Christ.
Love you forever, your family.
