James Marshall Cornett

James “Marshall” Cornett, 75, a retired banker from Hood River, passed away Sept. 7, 2013, surrounded by the love of his family.

Marshall was born Oct. 24, 1937, to Carlo and Bessie (York) Cornett, in Manchester, Ky., a special place he would visit throughout his life. At the age of 6, Marshall moved with his parents and sister, Barbara Anne, to pursue farming in Oregon’s Klamath Basin. Marshall attended 12 years of school in Malin, making lifetime friends and participating in sports, FFA, and 4-H. He loved animals and nature.
