Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Jackie (Mary) Moore passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Legacy Emmanuel.
Jackie is survived by her sister, Judy Colvin; her cat, Katie; three children Terry Moore, Cheryl Kyle, and Vicki Putnam; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her husband Frank Moore, parents Herman and Vera Evans, brother Thomas (Butch) Evans, and sister Barbara VanDebrake.
She was born July 13, 1935, in Dierks, Ark., and moved west to California with her family and settled in Norco, Corona and Riverside before heading north to White Salmon where she lived for 48 years. Recently she moved to Battle Ground with her daughter to be closer to her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids.
She worked at Diamond Fruit Growers in Hood River from 1969 to 1982 after leaving there she came to work in White Salmon at White Salmon Pharmacy, Don’s Men’s Wear, Warneke’s Clothing, Hi School Pharmacy, and Bridge Mart.
Christmas was her favorite holiday. She loved all the family being around she loved to decorate the house inside and out. She enjoyed driving around during the Christmas season just to see all the beautiful decorations. She would have left her decorations up all year if people wouldn’t have thought she was crazy.
A graveside service will be held at White Salmon Cemetery on Monday, April 25, 2016, at 11 a.m.
