Truman Harold Masten Jr., 62, of White Salmon, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Harold was born April 22, 1956, in Kansas City, Mo. His family eventually ended up in White Salmon after living in Kansas and California.
White Salmon is where he attended school. Harold married Teresa Wheeler Oct. 4, 1975, and they had two beautiful daughters, Shannon Marie and Jessica Melody.
Harold worked at Swan Island boat docks out of Portland, Ore., welding ships for a time. He was also an excellent body and fender man/mechanic and worked on old cars which was his passion.
He also liked to fish and was very artistic carving figures out of soapstone and wood. Harold also played guitar and loved music.
When he was little he would belt out “Jesus Loves Me” when he took a bath, you could hear him clear downstairs. Harold loved children and had a special connection with Jezzireya. They spent a lot of time together playing Yahtzee while Stephanie helped sort his meds and ran
errands for him. They both had a very special place in Harold’s heart.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Truman and Inez;
brothers, Terry, Billy Ray, and Wiley; sisters Louise and Zella.
He is survived by his daughter Shannon (Doug) Nelson; granddaughters McKenzie and Brittney; daughter Jessica Masten (Ivan Jimenez); grandson Jose, granddaughters Cierra and Ruby; sister Julie (Clinton) Warehime, Susie Barnett (Jim Wassmuth), Sandra (Dave) Dennis and numerous nieces and nephews. And, he leaves a lot of dear friends.
Cremation cared for by Gardner’s funeral home in White Salmon.
