Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Frances L. Flynn, 97, entered into eternal peace while residing at Parkhurst House on Saturday, March 30, 2013, with her beloved husband of 64 years, Willard Flynn, by her side.
To the delight of her parents, the late Frank and Laura Papstein, Frances was born early during a holiday vacation on Christmas Day, 1915, in Minneapolis, Minn.
Upon graduation from Ventura College in Ventura, Calif., Frances moved Sheridan, Ore., where she began her 38-year career working for U.S. National Bank.
In 1948, she met and married the love of her life, Willard Flynn. They exchanged wedding vows on Dec. 22, 1948.
In 1962 Frances and Willard both had employment that transferred them to Hood River. Over the years, Frances enjoyed golfing and bowling. She also volunteered with many organizations and was a member of the Hood River Soroptimist International Organization.
Frances leaves her loving memories to be cherished by her husband Willard, her devoted brother Cordell “Bud” Papstein, and many lifelong friends.
