Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Edward Damian Lavelle passed away on Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, in Parkdale, Ore. Ed was born Sept. 3, 1968, in Goshen, N.Y.
Ed was the son of Marguerite Lavelle McDonald and John Lavelle. He is survived by his wife, Diana Stanfield, his three brothers, Stephen of Schertz, Texas, John and his wife Susan of Wurtsboro, N.Y., and Scott and his wife Diane of Boonton, N.J., five nieces, a nephew and his dear friend Doug Duggan, his big brother out west.
Ed graduated from the Wallkill Central School District and obtained his engineering degree from the SUNY Environmental Science and Forestry program at Syracuse University. He put those skills to good use working at a job he loved, with the folks at the Middle Fork Irrigation District in Parkdale, and recently became a licensed professional engineer.
Ed was an avid outdoorsman, who on any given day could be found drift-boating the Deschutes, skiing on Mount Hood, rock climbing, or any other activity that didn't have a roof over it. His love of rock climbing New York’s Gunks ultimately lead to his relocation to the red rock of Oregon. Ed also enjoyed his evenings with Diana, jamming on guitars together in their new home.
Ed was a gentle soul who will be dearly missed by all who ever met him. A remembrance of life will be scheduled at a future date.
Arrangements are under the direction of Anderson's Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations), 1401 Belmont Ave., Hood River, Ore. Visit www.AndersonsTributeCenter.com to leave a note of condolence for the family.
