Edith May Burris, 98, passed away June 24, 2015, in Beaverton, Ore. She was born to Loletta May (Counts) and George Johnson in Hood on May 28, 1917.
Edith was raised in the White Salmon area. She married Amel Burris in Stevenson on June 11, 1937, and worked as a fruit packer for 24 years. Edith raised her family on a farm in the Snowden Area.
She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, and enjoyed gardening, sewing and canning.
She is survived by her children Marjorie Willis of Beaverton, Ore., Rita Hickey of Hillsboro, Ore., Steve Burris of Ontario, Ore., and Frieda Carleton of Rainier, Ore.; brothers Lewis Johnson, The Dalles, Ore., and Charles Johnson, Seattle; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 8 great, great grandchildren.
Edith was preceded in death by her husband; brothers Harold, Herman and Henry; sisters Alameda, Grace and Ida; and granddaughter Andrea White.
A funeral service will be held at Gardner Funeral Home on Friday, July 3, 2015, at 1 p.m.
