Dorothy Louise Harms, 96, of Hood River, Ore., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2014, at the Hood River Care Center. Dorothy was born May 24, 1918, in Hood River to Alphonse and Ruth (Chase) Kollas.
Dorothy resided in Odell and Hood River all her life and attended Odell High School. She married Raymond Harms, of Hood River, on Dec. 31, 1945.
Dorothy was employed by Stadelman’s Fruit LLC. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and doll making. She also enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels.
Dorothy is survived by daughters Gayle Opolka, of Renton, Wash., and Shirley Harms, of Portland, Ore.; three grandchildren: Christine Lufkin, Stephanie Enghause and Teresa Opolka; and five great-grandchildren: Alyssa, Brandon, Justin, Cora and James.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond.
