Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
David Gray Anderson died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2012, at the Klickitat Valley Hospital in Goldendale, Wash. Dave was born in Alberta, Canada, on Nov. 24, 1951.
He spent his teen-age years in the Hood River area, where he grew up on a ranch on Fir Mountain and went to high school in Hood River. After high school Dave joined the Marine Corps, where he was honorably discharged.
All his life Dave loved cars, trucks and railroads, so it made sense that he became a long haul truck driver and an avid model railroader.
Dave also loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting when he got the chance. He also loved animals, especially small dogs, who were his constant companion on the road.
Dave was preceded in death by his mother, Carol, his father, Richard, and his brothers Douglas and Daniel.
His younger brothers, Donald and Dennis, survive him.
A memorial service will be held for Dave at the United Methodist Church in Goldendale, Wash., on Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m.
It was Dave's wish that all should know the dangers of smoking, as it was lung cancer that prematurely took his life.
