Clarence “Clary” Martin Masiker, age 90, passed away on Feb. 20, 2016, at home surrounded by his wife and three children. Clary was born Nov. 27, 1925, to Clarence “Roy” and Marie (Paasch) Masiker in Hood River. He spent his entire life in Hood River, attending local schools. Clary served in the Navy during World War II and Korea. Upon his return from the service, he went to work for Mayflower Farms. He was an Odell volunteer fireman for 30 years, and active in his community. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Phyllis (Trively) Masiker, and three children, Nikki (David) Root, Cathy (Willie) DeLong and Marty (Kathy) Masiker, grandchildren Darci Anderson, Paul (Tracy) Matthews, Rod Rice, Penny Matthews, Jay (Megan) Knight and Alex Masiker, and great-grandchildren Emily Anderson, Garrett Anderson, Briana “Breezy” Matthews, Skylar Matthews and Kinsley Knight. Remembrances may be made to Providence Hospice of the Gorge or the Wy’East Fire Department. A time for friends and family to celebrate the life and mourn the loss of Clary is planned for 2 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26 at Anderson’s Tribute Center (Funerals • Receptions • Cremations), 1401 Belmont Avenue, Hood River, Oregon 97031.
