Charles Scott Weathers unexpectedly passed away in his home in Hood River, Ore., on March 26, 2018. He was 70 years young. Scott was born July 1, 1947. Scott was the oldest son of Charles Ira Weathers and Bette S. Weathers (Scrogin). He also had a younger brother, Doug.
He was preceded in passing by his mother, father and brother, as well as his lifetime partner and loving wife Margaret Weathers (Duckwall), who passed April 8, 2015. He is survived by his son Charles “Ed” Weathers of Hood River.
Scott worked the majority of his career at the cannery in Hood River for Diamond Fruit Growers.
Scott loved the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with his family. Some of their favorite locations included the Deschutes, East Lake, and the Oregon Coast, where his parents resided after retiring. Scott and Margaret also loved vacationing in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, every January. Scott and Margaret also looked forward to annual vacations with classmates and lifelong friends they affectionately coined “The Sunriver 7.” Scott and Margaret were season ticket holders and enjoyed tailgating with friends and family at OSU football games in Corvallis, Ore. Scott was a volunteer firefighter in Hood River and later at the Westside fire Department.
In memory of Scott, donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Westside Fire Department, Hood River, or to Celilo Cancer Center, The Dalles, Ore., in memory of his loving wife Margaret.
Graveside services are planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 12 at Idlewilde Cemetery in Hood River. Visit www.gardnerfh.com to leave condolences to the family.
