Cecil Lavern Odom was born to John Marvin and Myrtle Ivy (Lease) Odom at Largo, Fla., on Feb. 3, 1929. He passed away at his home in Murdock on Dec. 29, 2014, at the age of 85.
Cecil was raised in Florida then joined the United States Air Force and moved to Spokane.
On Feb. 17, 1950, he married Lorraine Belle Carter in Walla Walla.
Mr. Odom loved the outdoors, fishing, panning for gold, hunting and vegetable gardening.
His greatest joy, however, was his family and time spent with them. Cecil was a member of the Lyle Celebration Center in Lyle.
Mr. Odom is survived by his wife Lorraine of Murdock; children Caren Buffum and Danny Odom both of Murdock and Larry Odom of Wyoming; eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great, great-grandchild.
A funeral service was held at the Lyle Celebration Center on Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. with private interment at the White Salmon Cemetery.
