Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Carolynn Joy Struck’s hard fought battle with Alzheimer’s disease mercifully ended on Sept. 29, 2018, at The Dalles Health and Rehabilitation Center.
All she experienced during her 81 years formed her into a wonderful and beloved woman.
Born in 1937 on March 30, Carolynn joined her parents, Warren and Almeta Rowland, in White Salmon where she would later attend Columbia High School before marrying Gene Struck in June of 1954.
Together they had three children: Donald, Ronald, and Cindy. She displayed admirable resilience following the deaths of her first husband, Gene, and second husband, Ramon “Tigger” Loos.
She then moved to the Rowland family farm with her sister, Ramona “Sugar” Lauterbach, and the two are now together again in Heaven.
Carolynn lives on through her three children and brother, Tony. From them, she also has numerous nieces and nephews, six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Her impact on the people of White Salmon, Lyle, and Husum will reverberate for decades more, with all who knew her to remember her lovingly.
Please join us in memorial of Carolynn at 3 p.m. on Oct. 12, 2018, at the Gardner Funeral Home.
