Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Beverly “Bev”/“Mimi” Rae Bryant passed away on Jan. 14, 2019, at home surrounded by family in Hood River, Ore. She was 89 years of age.

Bev returned to Hood River for her senior year. After graduating high school, Bev worked for Mr. Frisbie’s accounting firm.
On Oct. 8, 1949, Bev married Jay Bryant in Hood River. They made their home in Hood River and soon welcomed their first son, Tom, and then their second son, Terry.
Ray and Gladys’ owned and operated Hood River Distributors (later known as Mid-Columbia Distributors), where Jay went to work. In 1972, Jay and Bev purchased the business, working side-by-side until Jay’s passing in May 1996. Bev continued working with her sons and retired in 1998.
Bev enjoyed attending the school events, sporting events, dance and music recitals of her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews. Anything her family was involved in, she attended.
Other favorite activities included cards, puzzles and board games with family and friends. She enjoyed bowling, participating on the Rainettes Team, and remained active in Card Club.
Bev was inducted into the Hood River Valley High School hall of fame for being a cheerleader for the 1947 State Championship Football Team.
Bev is survived by her sons, Tom (and Yvonne) Bryant, and Terry (and Teri) Bryant, all of Hood River; four grandchildren, Tiffany (and Aaron), Jeffrey, Jordan (and fiancée, Chera) and Jaclyn (and Joshua); six great-grandchildren, Hunter, Maddy, Allison, Aiden, Brixton and Leilani; sister, Mary Jo Smith; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and many life-long childhood friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jay.
