Beverly Chappel

Beverly Ann Chappel was born June 5, 1938, in Cody, Wyo., the fifth child of Albert H. and Ruby Lillian Parnell. In 1944, the budding family moved to Wapato. Then later in 1951, they moved to Pasco where she attended high school.

Apparently always being a good cook, a cake sale at the Pasco church was scheduled and Beverly baked a cake. And as traditions go, people from the Kennewick church came to fellowship and ate cake! A young man was there who set his eyes on her cake! As the bidding began the other young men were pushing the price up and it nearly broke him but he got the cake he wanted and thus the dinner companion as well.
