Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Beverlee DeBode Hooper died peacefully at home with her family surrounding her on July 9, 2017.
Beverlee was born on Sept. 22, 1928, in Bowman, N.D., one of five children of Beulah and Ed DeBode. When she was a youngster the family moved to California where she attended Venice High School. She graduated from UCLA and spent most of her teaching career in Europe.
She met her husband Charles Hooper in France, then they moved to England to teach.
After 23 years overseas, they moved back to the United States, settling in Husum where they planted a vineyard and established the Charles Hooper Family Winery. They retired and moved to Richland 20 years ago.
Beverlee is survived by her daughters Jan Bostian (Paul) of Spokane, and Kim Cutsforth (Jerry) of Richland, and son Chris. She was very proud of her grandchildren, Zachary (Jamie), Rachel (Su), and Ryan (Erika).
The family appreciates the sensitive and efficient care of Sheila, Cortney and Natalie and the staff of Chaplaincy Hospice Care. They would also like to thank Dr. Ayee for her care of Mom over the years.
A donation to Chaplaincy Hospice Care or Planned Parenthood would be appreciated.
