Funeral homes often submit obituaries as a service to the families they are assisting. However, we will be happy to accept obituaries from family members pending proper verification of the death.
Barbara Alby (Roth) passed away on Nov. 26, 2018, in Vancouver. She was preceded in death by her husband Dale and her son Ronnie.
She is survived by sons Lonnie and Rod, and their families; husband Tony Alby; sisters Betty and Gerry; lifelong friends/sisters Kathy Roth and Peggy Blevins.
She was the eighth child of nine children to Harold and Mary Goble. She was born in Alturas, Calif., on Dec. 3, 1945. Her family bounced around until they landed in Lyle, where she met Dale Roth. The two got married on Aug. 11, 1962 and had three boys, Ronnie, Lonnie, and Rodney.
Barbara was an avid rock hound, hiker, white water rafting kind of free spirit. One of her greatest feats was climbing Mt. Adams.
In her later years she traveled the U.S. with her husband Tony on countless adventures. Many trips to the southwest, the Wallowa Mountains, the beaches and even Hawaii with her best friend forever, Peggy.
She was certainly a free spirit.
Barbara will have a service at Gardner Funeral Home on April 13, 2019, at 11 a.m. All friends and family are welcome.
