Armista (Misty) May (Cox) Triplett passed away on Nov. 24, 2018. She was born April 13, 1933, in White Salmon to Mabry and Myrtle (Sisson) Cox.
Misty resided in White Salmon her entire life and she never considered living anywhere else. She married Edgar Triplett on Oct. 10, 1954, and they had three children Linda, Tim, and Lori. In their young married years, they enjoyed a dance club and being with friends. Perhaps because of Edgar, Misty learned to love all sports and the family traveled to attend many sporting events.
She grew up in a large family of nine children, all of whom helped with the family farm and the endless household chores of a large family. Misty was the middle child and was a cute and shy little girl. Because of this, her older siblings tended to watch over her, even spoil her a bit.
She loved to work and held many jobs in her teenage and young adult years. Her work ethic was strong and even while raising three children, she continued to work outside of the home. Misty had a long career with Rainier Bank, followed by several years with the City of White Salmon clerk’s office. She finished her career with Hood River School District Administration and retired from there in 1993.
During her early retirement years, she and Edgar enjoyed spending some of their winters in Arizona. They also enjoyed picking huckleberries in the summer. Many of their friends were annually given a fresh batch of huckleberries that they had picked specifically for them. Throughout her retirement years, she got tremendous pleasure working in her yard.
Misty was a quiet person and was very caring and thoughtful with all who knew her well. She never missed acknowledging a birthday of a friend or family member. It was this and many other small but genuine acts of kindness that made Misty a special person who warmed our hearts.
Misty is survived by Edgar, her husband of 64 years, and their children, as well as her sisters Pat Mathew, Buck Child and Mondilla Skiles, brothers Hale, Boxer and Gonzales Cox and a large extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother David, and sister Mary.
She was dearly loved and will be missed by all of her family. In keeping with Misty’s wishes, there will be no services.
