Angel Murillo, 24, of Pendleton, Ore., passed away on Jan. 1, 2019. He was born on Nov. 5, 1994, in Hood River, Ore., the son of Trino and Rosa Murillo.
He attended the White Salmon Valley Schools and graduated from Columbia High School in 2013, where he was a member of the National FFA Organization, the powerlifting club, as well as being an outstanding artist.
After graduation, he attended Blue Mountain Community College in Pendleton, Ore., and graduated with three different associate degrees in Agricultural areas of study. While Angel attended BMCC he began working at Hamley Western Store. Angel quickly became a part of the Hamley family and learned skills in sales, hat shaping, leather art, including saddle making. He combined his passions when he began working at Hamley Western Store, a combination of art and the cowboy way of life.
Angel was a kind, humble and hard-working young man with a good sense of humor. He cared deeply for others and took pride in his work and accomplishments.
Angel is survived by his parents Trino and Rosa Murillo; his brother and sister-in-law, Fernando and Ashley Murillo; and their children Ava and Greyson.
A funeral service was held at Columbia High School on Sunday, Jan. 13, 2019.
