Andrew Lee Aamodt died at home at the age of 31 on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012. He was a resident of Hood River Ore. Andrew was born on May 12, 1981, in Portland, Ore., to Gail and Steve Aamodt.
Andrew grew up in Canby, Ore., and graduated from Canby High School in 2000. He enjoyed playing baseball and soccer at Canby High. He attended Concordia University on a soccer scholarship. He married Stephanie Schellenberg of Clackamas, Ore.
Andy is survived by his wife, Stephanie, and their four children: Abby, 9, Aaron, 6, Alyssa, 4, and Aatto, 1, plus four additional children, Keely, 11, Aidan, 8, Kaitlin, 5, and Shawn, 3, that they had recently welcomed into their home; sister, Christy, and parents, of Beaverton, Ore.; and close friends Phil Sharmota and Chris Thompson.
He was an entrepreneur. He established and co-operated Firebreak Spray Systems, a wildfire protection company in Hood River.
Andy enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. A celebration of life gathering will be held at the family’s home on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 2 p.m.
The family would like to express their thanks to the Hood River Fire Department, Anderson’s Tribute Center and all those who have supported us during this time of grief.
Andy was a wonderful son, husband, father, brother and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
