Alvin Clyde Flory Jr., 65, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2015, at the Hood River Care Center in Hood River, Ore., surrounded by his loved ones. Alvin was born July 24, 1949, in Eugene, Ore., to Alvin Flory Sr. and Hazel Huckaby. He moved with his family to Hood River County and attended local schools.
After high school Alvin worked at the trailer factory in The Dalles, where he met lifelong friend, Jim Duval. Alvin then worked 25 years at Hanel Lumber Company and then for Northwest Aluminum until his retirement in 2006. Alvin enjoyed hunting, riding his motorcycle, roller skating, fishing and spending quality time with his family and friends.
Alvin is survived by his daughter, Holly Flory, of Parkdale, Ore.; mother, Hazel Flory, of Hood River; sister, Brenda Meyers, of Parkdale, Ore.; brothers Perry Flory, of Parkdale, and Brad Flory, of Hood River; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Sr., in 2002.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 29, at the Upper Valley Parkdale Cemetery, 6917 Allen Road, Parkdale, Ore. A reception will follow at the Parkdale Fire Station.
Memorials may be made to Anderson’s Tribute Center to assist family with funeral expenses.
