The next Gorge Owned Green Drinks event happens May 10 at The Renewal Workshop in Cascade Locks from 5:30-7 p.m.
The Renewal Workshop, 180 Herman Creek Lane on the east side of Cascade Locks, was founded and is based in the Gorge. It turns discarded clothing and textiles into something new. Renewed apparel is sold direct-to-consumer and in selected stores or back to the brand. The Renewal Workshop operates a zero-waste circular system that recovers the full value out of what has already been created as a way of serving customers, partners and the planet. They collaborate with brands and retailers to recover value from their unsellable returns and excess inventory and save them from the landfill. Co-founder Nicole Bassett will provide a tour of the facility and share the origin and story of the business.
Light appetizers and attendees’ first beer will be courtesy of Thunder Island Brewing.
