HOOD RIVER — The Hood River Valley High School (HRVHS) Hall of Fame will induct seven former student athletes, a retired coach and athletic director, and a boy’s state championship soccer team into its 2025 class.
The Hall of Fame’s induction weekend starts with introductions at halftime of the Eagle’s home football game on Friday, Sept. 12. The 16th Hall of Fame Honors Buffet Dinner and Induction is at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13 at Divots Pavilion, Indian Creek Golf Course, 3605 Brookside Drive. All are welcome to attend.
The Class of 2025 HRVHS inductees include Keith Bassham (1980-2016), Rob Cushman (1974), Jessica DeHart (2015), Devin Delozier (1993), Becca Meierbachtol (2003), Brandon Nogowski (1995), Annie Veatch (2014), Juan Villegas (1993), and the 2014 State 5A Boys Soccer championship team.
“All inductees this year attended Hood River Valley High School, with their time on campus spanning five decades,” said Committee Chair Phil Hukari. “They participated in one of seven different sports, and one is an esteemed state and regional wrestling coach who has also been recognized as an Athletic Director of the Year.”
Tickets, including a donation, are $35 and can be purchased at the door. KIHR radio Sports Director Mark Bailey will emcee. The Hall of Fame’s Scramble Golf Tourney has been canceled.
Founded in 2009, the Hall of Fame has grown to include more than 160 alumni, teams and special contributors. Hukari and the committee request more nominations of pre-1970s alumni, staff, and community supporters who meet the criteria for membership from Odell, Wy’East, Parkdale, Hood River, and Cascade Locks as few have alumni been inducted outside of HRVHS. Nomination forms are available at the HRVHS athletic office.
