Local schools races in Estacada

Trout Lake, Dufur and Horizon Christian competed in the rainy 19-school Estacada Small School track and field meet April 6.

Trout Lake had three runner-up finishes from its girls team. Freshman Melody Sharp was second in the 1500 in a personal best 5 minutes, 25.31 seconds. She later would finish fourth in the 800. (Of note, the race winner, sophomore Sophie Schoolmeester, won the race in 4:37.6 which is the 11th fastest time in the nation this season.)
