HOOD RIVER — Hood River Valley’s Noah Crain finished 32nd overall and led the Eagle girls cross country team to ninth place in the Silver Division of the Oct. 11 Rose City Championship meet in Portland.

Crain, a sophomore, covered the 5,000-meter course in a personal-best 21 minutes, 27 seconds; she was 40th after one mile but steadily improved her position through the finish.
