“Rooted: The Lives of Amos and Hannah Root, Pioneers of Mosier” is the topic of the second program of the Original Wasco County Courthouse 2024 history forum. The program begins at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 10 at the 1859 Courthouse, 410 West Second Place in The Dalles.

Research into the lives of her great-grandparents led retired teacher Doris Smith to write her recently-published book “Rooted.” She chronicles the life of her ancestors using family memoirs, articles from historic newspapers and old black and white family photos.
