Get a new look at a classic story this Saturday, Oct. 24, when the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) and more than 50 local students present"The Princess and the Pea."
The local cast features Lauren Thiesies as the princess and Sidra Matthias as the pea. The four leprechauns will be played by Eliza Durkee-Neuman, Dolores Lujano, Ruby McDonald, and Drake Wheeler.
Also featured are the royal family members of Riverdom, King and Queen Size who will be played by Sadie Hipskind and Megan Hanks. The royal family of Glacierdom, Storm King, Snow Queen and the prince will be played by Martha Durkee-Neuman, Rebecca Wolf, and Ethan Burton. Jack Frost, the troublesome cousin of the prince will be played by Cody Hipskind.
The wannabe princesses include Drew Harmon, Keyla Manly, Hanna Sauter, and Alexis Tibke. The citizens of Riverdom will be played by Ivy McDonald, Kaylin Beneventi, Grant Anderson, Andrew Lemly, Cylan Beneventi, Shae Duffy, Julia Terrana, Leah Glasser, Claire Samuels, and Emelie Pennington-Davis.
The citizens of Glacierdom will be played by Hallie Morris, Emily Lockman, Briana Ratley, Sydney Spaeth, Kailey Hakala, Eva Coulon, Ethan Andrews, Zack Pettit, Jordan Murphy, Chloe McLaughlin.
To complete the ensemble, Brooklyn Williams, Parker Erwin, Emily Reitz, Jedrek Matthias, Mya Aman, Alexis Brock, Brandon Ross, Luke Samuels, Chloe Hanks, Rhiann Black, Eva Dahl, Jacob Lockman, Dusty Dodge, Savannah Demchuck, Julia Ortiz, Aida McMillan, Kelsey Erwin, Susan Reitz will appear as the dancing dust bunnies.
Chief of the leprechauns will be played by MCT Tour actors/directors Lynda Mondragon and Jeffery Staso. Claire Anderson, Brooke Catlett, Lilly Schwatz, and Erin Wheeler have served as assistant directors throughout the week.
The Princess and the Pea will be presented at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday at the Whitson Elementary School gym.
Tickets are $3 adult, $2 children and are available at the door.
The Missoula Children's Theatre residency in White Salmon School District is presented locally with support from the Whitson Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization.
