The 2005 swim is scheduled for Labor Day, Sept. 5. As many as 550 swimmers are expected to take part in what the chamber has dubbed "Oregon's most unique amateur sports event."

Stair Climbing:

The second annual Hood River Stair Climb Challenge is scheduled for this Saturday, July 23. Day of registration will be at Second and State streets, starting at 9 a.m.

Challenge divisions include men's and women's open, family relay, and business relay. The event is a one-time climb up the Hood River Stairs. For more information, call (541) 490-1322.
