Here in the Columbia Gorge, rain, snow and more rain is a predictable winter cycle, and now is the time to start planning ahead for managing those storms.
If you worry about wet basements, a busy sump pump or lakes and rivers forming around your house, you might want to consider some management techniques designed to ease your water worries.
Persons interested in learning how to use stormwater management techniques and more are invited to attend an upcoming workshop being co-sponsored by Underwood Conservation District and the Wind River Watershed Council.
The workshop is during the Wind River Watershed Council's regular quarterly meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 16, at 6 p.m. in the Wind River Middle School Library, 441 Hot Springs Ave., Carson.
Attendees will learn how stormwater and flooding has been exacerbated in recent times, how to manage or mitigate stormwater issues on your property, and gain great ideas for landscaping design features that are both aesthetically pleasing and functional.
The workshop will show many examples and ideas that could help you in your stormwater situation!
