The Hood River County Historical Museum and the Hood River County Fair Board is sponsoring the 5th annual Appraisal Fair.
The event will be held on Thursday, July 27, from noon to 4 p.m. at the fair grounds during the Hood River County Fair.
Appraisal experts Sandra Millius and Jeff Motsinger will be returning to examine your family treasures. They are co-owners of Millius Estate Service in Portland.
She is an expert appraiser of personal property including antiques, decorative arts and furnishings. She is an instructor at Portland Community College, teaching "Antiques & Collectibles" and "Collective Glassware."
They are both members of the International Society of Appraisers.
Items will be appraised on a first come first serve basis. One item per person will be appraised during the first round to insure that as many people as possible can get their items appraised.
Additional items can be appraised after the first round.
Come as a participant with something to be appraised or come as a member of the audience. A microphone will be used by the appraisers so the audience can hear and enjoy the appraisal of each item.
No firearms or precious stones will be appraised.
In addition, while the appraisers are professionals, this event is intended to be informational and entertaining. The appraisals are not to be used for legal or insurance purposes.
There is no cost to attend the Appraisal Fair, however a suggested donation of $5 per item would be appreciated.
