The Skyline Foundation offers local delights that will tempt the tastebuds during it's annual Cultivate Klickitat this Saturday, Sept. 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Skyline Hospital.
Ten restaurants will showcase the local bounty from Klickitat and Skamania counties.
For instance, guests will dine on fresh, grilled local salmon prepared by chef James Boheim of Skamania Lodge Restaurant. Chris Helm of 130 Bar and Grill will work his magic on local buffalo and wild mushrooms. Garden-fresh vegetables will shine in a D'lish dish from Michelle Sliwa. Even Skyline's own chef Terry Endow, will create a delicious mousse created from everything local, except the chocolate.
Ziegler Vineyards and Memaloose Winery will be sharing their wines, as will Everybody's with their beer.
In addition, pianist Bob Schwarz will be there tickling the ivories, and David Griffith (of Griffith Motors) will be the auctioneer for Cultivate Klickitat's second annual signature lively auction featuring local adventures and services from a fishing trip for two on the Klickitat River, to a five-course meal prepared by Christiaan Erasmus of Henni's, to a windsurfing mast made to specifications by Innovative Composite Engineering.
One time a year the publicly owned hospital transforms itself into the place to be -- especially when you're healthy. Put on your heels, eat, drink, and be merry at the hospital.
The gala event is hosted by the Skyline Foundation as a benefit for Skyline Hospital's future community meeting space project.
Although tickets can be purchased at the door, reservations are recommended. Tickets are $50 each.
