A new cookbook promoting sustainable grass-fed beef recipes is getting attention in culinary circles,and the author is coming to the Columbia River Gorge this week.

Waucoma Bookstore in downtown Hood River is sponsoring the visit. Author Lynne Curry will demonstrate a recipe from her book Pure Beef: An Essential Guide to Artisan Meat with Recipes for Every Cut at the Gorge Grown Farmers' Market today, Thursday at 5 p.m.
