Paul Titus secures TDCC Club Championship in one-hole playoff

Titus made par on the first hole and Telles three-putted for bogey, as each shot a two-round total score of 157.

Bill Caddy carded a 163 to secure the Senior Club Championship, and local golf standout Charlie Ford was crowned Net Club Champion after his net tally of 139.

In the Member/Guest event ending on July 26 in The Dalles, Rick Cyphers and Matt Newton were on fire for three consecutive victories.

The duo picked up first-place honors with their 158 to cruise past the rest of the field by 15 points.

There was a four-way deadlock for second place with a 143, as the teams of Chris Cady and Erin Mason, David Re and Jeff Loeffler, Douglas Bansch and Raymond Borgen, and Dan Keizur and Gary Sollman made up the order of finish.

Bill Maske and Charlie Clark, and the duo of Ford and Ed Prideaux ended play tied for sixth place with a 138.

In this event, all the tallies etched were tabulated in the Stableford System.

Players earn a point for a net bogey, two points for a net par, three points for a net birdie and four points for an eagle.

Once play is completed, the points scored by the two players are then added together and the team with the most points wins the contest.

The Day 1 Honey Pot event featured Cyphers and Newton combining strokes for a 78 for first place, ahead of Way and Wolf, whose 75 was good for second place.

Bansch and Borgen had a 72 for third place, and there was a three-way tie for fourth place with Telles and Oshiro, Re and Loeffler and Shepherd and Miller each carding a 70 on the scorecards.

Cyphers and Newton completed the weekend trifecta with top honors in the Day 2 Honey Pot event with their 80.

Keizur and Sollman had a 78 for second place, Cady and Mason added a 75 to claim third place, and the three teams of Re and Loeffler, Christensen and Lawton, and Link and Lewis had 73s.
