Ten incidents were reported, said The Dalles Police Det. Sgt. Doug Kramer, though some may go back as far as a week.

Last week, a 14-year old male was arrested on charges of tagging along East 11th Street, and he had a history of previous charges for tagging as well, Kramer said.
“Obviously, we’re looking into anyone else who was involved before, to see if it was related,” Kramer said of investigative efforts. “We’ve got a few details but I don’t want to share too much of it. I don’t want it to get out there.”
He said the main way the public can help is to call police if they see something suspicious. The city police number is 541-296-2613.
The rash of tagging over the weekend was mostly done in red and purple paint. In one instance, the victims and a police officer who responded noticed the paint was still wet.
Various images were reported, though something approximating a crown was reported several times, Kramer said.
In one case, a sprayed term was one letter shy of a curse word. Kramer said it was common for taggers to misspell words. He quipped it was “attempted use of foul language.”
This tagging spree included not only buildings, but also a few vehicles.
Police also go looking for instances of tagging, and in some cases with the weekend tagging spree, the victim didn’t call police, but police called the victim, or left a business card on their door.
The regional jail has a program where a crew of juvenile offenders will paint over tagging.
About a year ago, the city was beset with a large tagging spree that was cleared with a series of arrests.
