Sandy River Delta closes nights

• 6 p.m. – 6 a.m.; Nov. 3 through March 8.

• 8 p.m. – 6 a.m. March 9 through May 31.

• 10 p.m. – 6 a.m.; June 1 through Sept. 30.

The closure is necessary to reduce problems with trash, sanitation, vandalism, and safe use of the area. These recurring illegal activities have created a burden for cooperating Law Enforcement Agencies and Forest Service staff managing the area. Limiting night-time use in the area will alleviate many of these issues. The Sandy River Delta parking lot and access road is a designated day use area. A dusk to dawn closure has been in effect since 2009.

The closure will be implemented by opening and closing the entrance gate at the above times. Vehicles however will be able to exit the area after the site is closed through a one-way exit gate. The exit gate allows vehicles to leave the site while preventing vehicles from entering.
