Mid-Columbia Medical Center has signed a lease to occupy 12,500 square feet of the medical building now under construction in Hood River, immediately west of the new Hampton Inn.
The hospital plans to fill the space with several specialty clinics that will either be expanding from locations in The Dalles or relocating from elsewhere in Hood River.
“This gives us the opportunity to consolidate some of the services we already provide in Hood River, while also expanding the care offerings available to residents in the western portion of our service area,” said Duane Francis, MCMC president and CEO. “We’ve identified some services that have been very successful in The Dalles that we feel will be equally well received by residents of Hood River and nearby communities.”
MCMC currently offers outpatient therapy services through Hood River Therapy and urology specialty care through an office of Gorge Urology located at Providence Hood River Memorial Hospital. Those programs will relocate to the new building.
In addition, the facility will house MCMC physicians and providers specializing in dermatology, orthopaedics and podiatry and include space devoted to visiting specialists and sub-specialists.
MCMC also will open in the Hood River building a new medical spa modeled after its highly successful The Spa at Water’s Edge, which has far exceeded anticipated volume and growth since opening in 2010 on The Dalles waterfront.
That unique facility blends MCMC’s whole-person healing philosophy with the services of a traditional day spa.
“The services and specialists we will be bringing to Hood River are all in areas we have identified as needing additional capacity or where there is a desire for more local options,” Francis said. “We’re anxious to add to the high-quality care and services already available in this area.”
Francis says he expects MCMC’s new Hood River location to be operational by late spring 2017.
