To the editor: It is common knowledge that our country has been attacked, an attack on every person in every household in every part of the United States. Not with bombs or bullets and without a drop of blood shed. The attack came during our 2016 election process while the American public was distracted and engaged in a pompous reality show spectacle.

To the editor: I attended the town hall meeting held by Congressman Greg Walden in The Dalles on April 12.. I was appalled at the rudeness of people. He is our representative to the United States Congress and people would not even let him finish answering any of the questions they asked.

To the editor: I belong to one of many local progressive groups in the Gorge and we are concerned about what is going on in Washington, D.C. We have questions about the new health care bill and how that will affect all of us; we have questions about immigration policies that affect our neighbors, friends and employees; we have questions about women’s continued access to safe and quality health care; we have questions about global warming and the future of our planet. What we don’t have are answers from our congressional representative, Greg Walden.
