Glenwood, Wash. — The Cougar Creek Fire burning near Glenwood swelled to 22,500 acres over the weekend, with firefighters keeping it at 15 percent contained as of Monday.

Gorge fire grows to 40 acres

A fire that started near the south side of the freeway about one mile east of Hood River Tuesday evening grew to about 40 acres this morning, burning through grass, oak and conifers on private and federal land.
