The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began the winter recreational vessel lock schedule, with recreational passage limited to daylight hours, for its Columbia River dams Sept. 16.

Washington Gov. Jay Inslee has signed a bill that would provide more environmental protections against derelict vessels in Washington’s waterways.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will help recreational boaters to prepare their boats for summer by hosting free vessel safety inspections at Columbia Hills State Park from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 27.
