Of all the things that might be scary on Halloween night, nothing would be worse for coach Caleb Sperry and his Hood River Valley High Eagles football team than a loss to the winless Riverhawks from The Dalles. The Eagles (3-6) clearly had no intentions of letting that happen, however, as they concluded their season on a positive note with a 34-6 win over TDW (0-9) on Senior Night Friday at Henderson Community Stadium.

Emily Bailey rattled off another double-double with 14 points and 12 steals to lead The Dalles Wahtonka to a 44-32 winner over Pendleton in Columbia River Conference play Friday night at Kurtz Gym in The Dalles. TDW jabbed away early in the game with outputs of 12-5 and 11-6 to lead 23-11 at the half.

The Dalles Wahtonka scored their first win of the season Friday in a 60-50 margin over Redmond in the second day of the Holiday Inn Classic Tournament, but now has lost seven of their first eight games after suffering a 52-42 setback to Springfield in the Wilsonville Tournament Saturday.
